Bowery
The Bowery in Manhattan has a rich history and captivating energy.Just a generation ago, a 5 story building could be bought for a song, it has become a vibrant art and cultural enclave struggling to maintain the area’s historic rugged and pure urban roots.
Even before you enter the building at 259 Bowery, you get a taste of the places great energy. A big black metal door, which adorns neighborhood graffiti in between the building supers periodic renewal washings, takes you into a modest yet stylish and clean lobby and into the modern steel elevator which takes you right into your own private loft.
259 Bowery was originally designed by West Chin, selected by New York magazine as one of “The City’s 100 Best Architects. Plans are in the works to add a second bedroom and bathroom, and a library/reading loft to take advantage of the 12 foot ceilings.Bowery is still on Ken and Maytal's list of ongoing projects.
